HIFU uses high intensity focused ultrasound energy to target the layers of skin just below the surface. The ultrasound energy causes the tissue to heat up rapidly. Once the cells in the targeted area reach a certain temperature, they experience cellular damage which stimulates the cell to produce more collagen, a protein that provides structure to the skin. Increase in collagen results in tighter, firmer skin giving you a sculpted, tightened and lifted new look…naturally.
Here at Aglow Aesthetics we use the newest technology premium 4D HIFU. Superior to 3D HIFU in that we can have a higher energy with less pain, more treatment lines means more thorough treatment plus includes radar to treat sensitive hard to reach areas like eyes, nose, around the mouth and jaw.
1 – 3 hours HIFU Facial and neck Lift treatments target deep into the dermis and foundation muscle layers of the skin at 3.0 mm and 4.5 mm working at the same depths as a surgical lift. The process of regeneration takes place progressively and gradually from the deeper tissue towards the skin surface, working naturally to both uplift and rejuvenate the skin.
• Tightening the skin tissue on the forehead, eyes, and mouth.
• Tightens sagging skin on the neck (Turkey Neck)
• Lift the cheeks, drooping eyelids or eyebrows
• Enhancing jaw line definition, reducing “marionette lines”.
• Reduce the appearance of jowls – a small focal accumulation of fat on the lower cheek overlying the jaw bone. Prominent jowls make a person look older.
• Tightening of décolletage
• Improving skin elasticity and shaping contour.
Best visible results are seen after 6 to 10 weeks, with continual on-going improvement up to 6 months as the new collagen matrix reaches it’s full strength.
30 min to 1hr
With this treatment, we target the upper layer of the skin at a depth of 1.5 mm as a new collagen regeneration is stimulated by the HIFU energy, fine lines and wrinkles are erased, leaving you with naturally radiant, fresh, plumped and more youthful skin.
• Skin refining (removes fine lines, including lip lines and lines on forehead)
• Skin plumping, toning and smoothing (reduces pore size)
• Scarring (including acne scarring and stretch marks)
• Pigmentation
Best visible results are usually seen after 2 to 4 weeks and HIFU GLOW FACIAL can be repeated on-going every 4 to 8 weeks to maintain results, depending on your age and skin type.

Who is HIFU best suited to?
A good candidate for HIFU is someone with skin that has relaxed to the point of looking, and often feeling, less firm. A lowered eyebrow line or sagging skin the eyelids, for example, is often the first sign of “maturing” skin. Typically, those in their late thirties and older who have mild to moderate skin laxity are candidates. While HIFU is not a replacement for a surgical facelift, there are many people who want some lifting but are not ready for surgery, either mentally or financially. There are also younger people who want to stay ‘ahead of the game’ as well as those looking to prolong the effects of cosmetic surgery.
How long will a HIFU treatment take?
The length of your treatment depends on what you are having treated. A full face treatment and neck takes 2 hours and a partial face or eye lift treatment can take around 30minutes. Body treatment will sit somewhere within that range. With HIFU treatment there is NO DOWNTIME, you can resume to your normal activities immediately and there are no special measures that you have to take.
How do I feel during treatment?
A tiny amount of energy can be felt whilst the ultrasound energy is being delivered and deposited to precise depths of the skin. This is a positive and temporary signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated. Comfort thresholds vary from person to person but the sensations only last while the treatment is being delivered. Your aesthetician will aim to make your experience as comfortable as possible. Patients typically leave feeling relaxed and excited about the benefits to come.
How many treatments will I need?
Generally only one treatment is needed every 6 months to 2 years depending on the client’s age and degree of skin laxity, biological response to ultrasound energy and their individual collagen-building process.
Are there any side effects?
It is possible for the skin to appear flushed at first. This can happen during treatment but it sometimes lasts longer. If there is any redness, it should disappear within a few hours. Some clients experience a slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to the touch however these are only temporary sensations.
What is the cost of HIFU treatment?
Treatment costs range widely and depend upon the size and number of area being treated. That being said, the pricing however is well below the cost of cosmetic surgery.
Is HIFU a replacement for a face lift?
While HIFU treats the same deep foundational layer that cosmetic surgery treats, although it comes close, it won’t duplicate the exact results of a full face lift. Yet it offers a great non-surgical alternative that is gentler and non-invasive.
