Wrinkle Relaxers

Wrinkle relaxers are injections administered with fine needles to temporarily weaken facial muscles. They utilize natural purified proteins to relax the muscles responsible for lines and wrinkles.

As we age, our skin loses elasticity, and collagen production slows down, leading to the emergence of wrinkles and creases on our faces.

By weakening these muscles, we can soften and prevent lines and wrinkles caused by the natural aging process, poor diet, lifestyle choices, overexposure to the sun, and smoking.

Beyond their scientific efficacy, wrinkle relaxers showcase the artistry of aesthetic medicine. At Aglow Aesthetics, our highly skilled practitioners possess a deep understanding of facial anatomy and dynamics. This enables them to customize each treatment to the unique contours of the individual’s face. Through strategic injection techniques, they sculpt and refine the facial canvas, enhancing natural beauty while preserving expressiveness. The result is a harmonious blend of refinement and authenticity that transcends mere aesthetics.

Treatment Areas for Wrinkle Relaxers

  • Frown lines
  • Forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Bunny lines (lines on the nose)
  • Dimpling of the chin
  • Upper lip lines and corners of the mouth
  • Gummy smile
  • Platysmal band

Wrinkle relaxers are beneficial wherever dynamic lines or areas of overactive muscle are present. They are not limited to the upper face but can shape the entire face. While many believe they are solely for addressing lines on the forehead, around the eyes, and frown lines, wrinkle relaxers can also correct bunny lines on the nose, contour the lower face, reduce lines above the lips, and shape the neck. Additionally, they can complement volume enhancement treatments for areas like the lips, chin creases, and marionette lines, prolonging their effects.

Wrinkle relaxers have medical applications as well, including treatments for Bruxism (teeth grinding), migraines, chronic headaches, and Hyperhidrosis (excess sweating in the armpits).

At Aglow Aesthetics, our team will collaborate with you to develop a tailored treatment plan to ensure you achieve the best possible, natural-looking results.

FAQ

What does treatment involve?

At Aglow Aesthetics, your journey begins with a consultation with our experienced cosmetic nurse. During this consultation, you will have the opportunity to discuss your aesthetic concerns, goals, and medical history. We conduct a thorough assessment of your facial anatomy to determine if a wrinkle relaxer is suitable for you.

Based on your needs and goals, we develop a customized treatment plan tailored to address your specific areas of concern. We discuss with you the anticipated results, potential risks, and any alternative options to ensure you have a clear understanding of the procedure.

Before your treatment, you may be asked to stop or refrain from taking certain medications or supplements that can increase the risk of bruising.

On the day of the treatment, your cosmetic nurse will cleanse the area and may apply a topical numbing cream or an ice pack to minimize discomfort. Using a fine needle, precise injections of the wrinkle relaxer are administered into targeted muscles responsible for causing wrinkles and fine lines. After the procedure, our skilled cosmetic nurse will monitor you for any immediate adverse reactions and provide aftercare instructions.

Results become evident after a few days, with the maximal effect seen at 2 weeks. We recommend a follow-up appointment 2 weeks post-procedure to assess the results and determine if additional treatments are necessary. Adjustments to the treatment plan may be made as needed to achieve your desired outcome. No treatment will be performed prior to the 2-week follow-up, as wrinkle relaxers take 10-14 days to fully take effect.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Wrinkle relaxers typically have very few side effects. Rarely, clients may experience slight bruising, redness, or swelling of the treated area. For four hours after treatment, we recommend that clients do not touch the treated area, lay down, consume alcohol, or engage in exercise.

The effects of the treatment should become apparent between 2 to 14 days. At Aglow Aesthetics, we pride ourselves on ensuring our clients receive the highest quality treatment and enhanced appearance. We work with clients on an individual basis to achieve their desired results while ensuring that facial movement remains natural, avoiding the “frozen look.”

How long do results last?

The longevity of wrinkle relaxer results can vary depending on several factors, including the specific product used, individual metabolism, dosage, and the area treated. However, on average, the effects of wrinkle relaxers typically last between three to six months. After the initial treatment, many individuals notice improvements in wrinkles and fine lines within a few days, with optimal results within 2 weeks.

How much does it cost?

The cost will be discussed during the consultation.
