Skin Treatments
Dermaplaning
Manual exfoliation to remove surface dead skin cells and fine vellus facial hair, often called “peach fuzz”.

01
What the service involves
A sterile, single-use dermaplaning blade is carefully passed over the skin to remove surface dead skin cells and fine facial hair. Your treatment begins with a skin consultation and cleanse to ensure dermaplaning is appropriate for your skin, and is completed with skincare selected according to your needs.
Dermaplaning may help to:
- Remove surface build-up and dead skin cells.
- Remove fine vellus facial hair.
- Improve the appearance of skin texture.
- Leave the skin feeling smoother and softer.
- Create a smoother surface for skincare and make-up application.
- Refresh the appearance of dull-looking skin.
02
Suitability and preparation
Dermaplaning may not be appropriate for some skin conditions, including active acne, open or irritated skin, active infections or certain inflammatory skin conditions. A consultation and skin assessment will be completed before treatment to determine suitability.
Avoid exfoliating acids, retinoids and other potentially irritating active skincare products for several days before your appointment, unless otherwise advised by your healthcare professional.
Please let your therapist know if you have active acne, broken or irritated skin, cold sores, a recent sunburn, or are currently using prescription skin treatments so that suitability can be assessed.
03
What to expect and possible risks
Treatment takes approximately 45–60 minutes. Downtime is minimal for most clients, although individual responses vary.
Possible effects include temporary redness, sensitivity, dryness, minor irritation or small superficial cuts. Your skin will be assessed before treatment, and suitability, expected outcomes and aftercare will be discussed with you.
04
Caring for your skin afterwards
For the first 24–48 hours following your treatment:
- Keep your skincare routine gentle and avoid exfoliating products, scrubs, retinoids and strong active ingredients.
- Avoid excessive heat, saunas, steam rooms and strenuous exercise for approximately 24 hours.
- Avoid picking, rubbing or exfoliating the treated skin.
- Keep the skin well hydrated with a gentle moisturiser.
- Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ daily and minimise unnecessary sun exposure.
Your skin therapist will provide personalised aftercare recommendations based on your skin and the products used during your treatment.
