What does cosmetic volume enhancer treatment involve?
Prior to any treatment, a full consultation is required with our practitioner. During this consultation, your goals, medical history, any allergies, and the treatment options available to you will be discussed. Our cosmetic nurse will conduct a full assessment of your facial structure, skin condition, and desired areas for treatment, ensuring realistic expectations and selecting suitable filler types. Prior to the procedure, a topical numbing cream may be applied to minimize discomfort. Using a fine needle, the filler substance is then injected into the marked areas. At Aglow Aesthetics, we only use products that contain local anesthetic, which further eases the discomfort often felt with fillers. The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes or longer, depending on the size of the area to be treated. Post-procedure, the practitioner may massage the treated area to ensure even distribution of filler and reduce the risk of lumps or bumps. Slight redness, bruising, swelling, and tenderness may occur at the injection site/s. Results should appear very soon following treatment, but some patients will notice increased swelling for 24 to 48 hours, so the true effect may not be noticeable until then. It may take 3 to 4 weeks for the cosmetic filler to stabilize and fully settle into the skin. Follow-up appointments may be scheduled to assess results and possibly administer additional injections for optimal outcomes.
How long does the treatment last for?
The range of cosmetic fillers Aglow Aesthetics uses lasts between 12 to 36 months, depending on the type of filler used.
What can I expect after treatment?
Fillers have very few side effects. Some patients may experience slight bruising, redness, or swelling. We recommend that for 12 hours after treatment, the patient does not touch the treated area, lay down, drink alcohol, or engage in any strenuous exercises or activities for 24 hours. Our practitioners will discuss all the risks and contraindications prior to performing any procedure.
