HOW DOES IT WORK

The treatment consist of several different steps:

First step of the process consist of exfoliating and cleansing your skin.
A small deplaning instrument is used to open up the pores on your face, remove dead skin cells and sweep away debris left behind by makeup. The experience feels like having your face gently massaged by an electric toothbrush.

The second part is the acid peel.
There are several types of glycolic peels that can cause your skin to sting, but the peel used for a HydraFacial does not cause this problem. The glycolic acid peel is very gentle and shouldn’t cause your skin to sting.

The third step consist of extractions.
During this phase, you’ll be able to see what has been hiding inside your pores. A vortex-extraction nozzle is used to perform the extraction, and it’s a device that is very similar to vacuum.

The fourth step of the process consist of serum application.
The vortex-fusion tool is used to infuse your skin with antioxidants and collagen. The serum is important because it promotes hydration and elasticity. What does the treatment involve?
Following a full consultation, your treatment regime and concerns will have been established. From here, the treatment lasts 30 minutes. You will have your face cleansed then you relaxed while we perform your HydraFacial. The treatment uses light suction and you will not feel any abrasiveness like with a microdermabrasion treatment. There is no discomfort or irritation and your skin will glow and feel tight immediately afterwards. There is no downtime you can resume your normal activities post procedure.

How many HydraFacial treatments are recommended?
You will have outstanding results after just one treatment of the hydraFacial however the best results are seen with regular sessions to ensure healthy cell turnover and the removal of damaged cells and impurities. Here at Aglow Aesthetics we recommend a 4 initial treatments at monthly intervals for optimal results to refine, refresh and hydrate the skin. For those who have more serious skin concerns like acne or sun damaged skin, a course of 6 monthly treatments is needed. Following the initial treatment course, a HydraFacial should be performed every 2 to 3 months or before any special or red carpet event.

What should I do before and after treatment?
• Avoid direct sun exposure, spray tanning or sunbeams for 3 weeks. If going in the sun a high SPF sunscreen should be applied.
• Avoid facial peels or waxing within 7 to 14 days.
• Apply skincare cream enriched with A, E and C as this contributes to better results.

Are there any contraindication for the treatment?
• If you are taking accutane or similar medication

• If pregnant or breast feeding in the first few months
• If you had any cosmetic injectable treatment ie botox/fillers within 72 hours
